Vision

Santa Cruz Weapons Inspection Team (WIT) acts in solidarity with civilian weapons inspection teams worldwide. We recognize the absolute peril associated with weapons of mass destruction no matter which sovereign nation or individual has possession of them. We believe that the production of weapons of mass destruction is antithetical to our security in every way imaginable. It sickens the industry's workers, pollutes the environment and undermines prospects for intelligent peacemaking. The use of our tax dollars for weapons of mass destruction diverts precious resources away from valuable programs that promote the education, health and well-being of our world community.

We call for the worldwide elimination of weapons of mass destruction and begin with the Lockheed Martin in our own community, operating at a remote site at the end of Empire Grade in Bonny Doon.

Goals

• To see for ourselves what is being tested, produced, stored and dumped at the Bonny Doon site.
• To bring the information we seek to public view.
• To engage a community discussion about the viability of continuing to allow the world's largest manufacturer of WMD to operate in our county.
• To support worldwide efforts to eliminate WMD from each and every community.
